It's the last midnight of 2020, so to be precise, tomorrow's new year already. Instead of the "2012 end of the world", we got a "2020 global pandemic". Not as cool as the end of the world, but still, it's a story for us to tell. We've all been through some rough patches this year, we can only hope it'll get better. It will, one day. It's only a question of when.
For me, although there wasn't any major achievement or activity, I guess I've grown and learnt a lot, both intellectually and mentally. The pandemic destroyed half of my college life (and more to come), but I'm glad I had the rest of the year. No kidding, amongst all the math tests and exams, there was an element of fun. Frankly speaking, I got really lucky that none of my major exams got affected. ( let's not jinx our A2 ) Horrible as it was, 2020 was pretty unique.
I don't do new year's resolutions. If you really want to do something, just go ahead. You don't need a resolution to remind you to. New year's resolutions never do work anyway, I guess that's why timetables never worked for me. ( Speaking of timetables, I can't believe I still have 4 days of 8am classes weekly next year. ) If I'd really want to make one, it'd be sleeping early, and I know that's not going to work. Come what may in 2021, just embrace the storm.
Humans created calendars and new years. It's brilliant, and cute too. We're just a huge population of species, having our own parties, determining when we want to periodically celebrate life. Some people look at the sun, some at the moon, and some I don't even know what. Things like new year, new me, keep a lot of people going, year after year. Not me, this time. 2021 seems pretty dreadful even looking at it now. It has always been a myth to me, could someone really change overnight? Change often occurs after an impactful event, not new year.
Anyway, it's always fun to countdown to a "new start" and feel goosebumps rise. If your plans are to sulk at home like me, feel free to hit me up for a zoom countdown tomorrow. xD
Last but not least, cheers to a new year of uncertainties.
