Nature, a gift to mankind, its beauty immeasurable, its charm divine,...
can get very annoying. Especially when the weather goes from too cold to too hot in a matter of minutes. When I stepped out of the house and felt the wind relentlessly howling, I thought I should've worn thicker clothes. Surprisingly, just minutes later, I felt like Olaf at the end of Frozen.
I've got a really nice room, nice, but not in its best condition I guess. The chair in my room has a worse design than an electric chair, so I ordered one and hopefully it arrives before my back breaks and my neck muscles go on strike. After vacuuming the carpet, all I could say was ew. The water here tastes weird and there's a hole in the toilet. Other than that, I guess I'm getting used to waking up at 7am in the morning because the curtain is fake and can't be drawn. It feels like waking up to a nuclear explosion every single morning. I'm guessing the interior designer got offended by the person staying in this room initially. Ah and it should get worse in summer. The flat next door is having their construction, and they're drilling holes into our flat. I just hope my ceiling doesn't collapse. Not to mention the drilling has a sound quality better than a tv sound surround system.
School, ah yes, university. I was under the impression that classes would be face-to-face. Well, that was the main reason why all the Visa trouble ensued, right? When the Computing timetable came out filled with different shades of pink, it was a very sad moment, very sad indeed. Pink for online, all sorts of online. Live, prerecorded, lab sessions but online (I have no idea what that means). Also who's that genius who used different shades of a single colour to colour code timetables. Induction "week" will be on Monday, classes start on Tuesday and an assessment on Thursday. Yey.
Okay, it's not all bad. Nah, just kidding. We've got to home quarantine for 10 days, with a lot different problems. My test kit, which I highly suspect they forgot to ship on day 0, after a lot of complaints, arrived on the morning of day 2, and I got my day 2 test results on day 6. Way to go.
Now, shall we go back to being optimistic? I'm actually quite excited to see what's in store, and I know it would take me no time to get accustomed to life here. In fact, I'm pretty used to this room that I'm in a constant dilemma of really wanting to go out and just wanting to stay home. We're getting rice tomorrow and I'm just so glad. It's been a week without rice, I don't think I can have pasta for any longer. Milk is cheaper than water, and chicken drumsticks are cheaper than chicken breasts. I can finally be the one bringing home 1 pound snacks from Sainsbury, how the tables have turned.
My brain stops working pretty early at night, so I guess it's time to call it a day. I'll be back when I get my daily life more sorted out. Till then, --
